About your expert trainer:
Edward Stock manages Artaois Ltd, a UK
based management consultancy that utilises his 15 years experience in the UK energy business. Ed has worked in marketing,
trading, operations and risk management, advising European energy companies on
commercial aspects of marketing, trading and risk management. In addition to
the consultancy business Ed is an Associate Course Director on a Global Energy
MBA and lectures on Global Energy Markets.
Ed’s career started in sales before moving onto managing
the back office for Elf
Business Energy and finally moving on to manage their UK
marketing gas portfolio where he was responsible for the long term hedging and
short term balancing. While in the portfolio management role, he worked closely
with the trading office of Total utilising his knowledge of front office to the
benefit of the UK marketing business.
In 2004, Ed moved to HydroWingas Ltd. Where he developed
the operational side of the business, setting up pricing, risk and legal
frameworks and developed the ETRM function including the scoping, purchase and implementation
of the Billing and Trading software. Ed joined the Managing
Directors of WINGAS UK
as Head of Trading and Operations to create the three man management team to
develop the UK business strategy.
In September 2007, Ed was seconded to Germany to develop
WINGAS GmbH‘s trading capabilities and advise on the risk management framework.
He reviewed the trading strategy for the European multi hub, multi commodity trading
business, identified value and opportunity in current supply and capacity contracts
and advised on optimisation. Ed also undertook the valuation of storage assets
and contracts and detailed strategy to manage future storage projects.
During 2008, Ed returned to the UK to work on the
integration of WINGAS UK into the parent company and hand over responsibility
of the finance, operations and trading functions to the Head Office in
Germany.`
