Talent Management and Knowledge Retention Strategies
Implementing integrated talent management, staff retention and succession planning strategies to enhance business competitiveness
Event Date: 25-26 Mar 2010
Location: Crowne Plaza, The Rosebank, Johannesburg, South Africa
Title body lang=EN-US link=blue vlink=purple>

The issues of talent management, succession planning and knowledge retention are global ones. Many organisations have benefitted from effective talent management practices as a critical source of differentiation in today’s highly competitive, globally integrated economy. Talent management is one of the key strategic priorities of leaders who are committed to execution, collaboration and high performance. The challenge of managing talent however, can seem daunting. While demand for talent in all industries goes up all the time, the supply side of the equation diminishes. Hence, companies are confronted by a talent dilemma of talent scarcity and talent loss.

A broad range of strategies are being employed by businesses to manage and retain talents.  Most of these strategies are ensuring that employees understand the company’s core values and goals, mentoring employee perceptions, training top performers for leadership positions and developing competitive reward programmes. It is factual that companies employing talent management enjoy the lower costs associated with developing and retaining skilled employees rather than the high price associated with the continuous cycle of recruiting and training new employees.

This two day workshop will enable delegates gain insight into talent management best practices as well as how to position their organisations into an employee of choice with the right branding. The different elements of talent acquisition and retention processes will be put under perspective as delegates acquaint themselves with proven methods of successful talent management processes. Intricate information on succession planning will be profoundly explored to ensure that delegates leave the training with practical toolkits fit for their organisations.

Your highly experienced course facilitator will enable an unrivalled interactive workshop that will allow delegates share their individual experiences in talent management.

"Human capital is a core corporate asset, just like financial and physical assets. As such, it must be managed the way companies manage other assets. This requires thinking strategically about how to invest in human capital, and figuring out how to optimise and measure its return. -Allan Schweyer"
Talent loss is increasing exponentially as the talent war between companies intensifies. Smart and intelligent organisations are adopting and continuously learning new strategies to forestall this trend and save millions of rand incurred in talent losses.
