The CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting is an entry requirement to the CIMA Professional Qualification and a recognised qualification in its own right.
The five papers are:
C01 Fundamentals of Management Accounting
C02 Fundamentals of Financial Accounting
C03 Fundamentals of Business Mathematics
C04 Fundamentals of Business Economics
C05 Fundamentals of Ethics, Corporate Governance and Business Law
You can sit the five subjects in any order and in any combination. All subjects are assessed by Computer Based Assessments which are 2 hours duration with a pass mark for each subject of 50%.
Important dates and deadlines
The CBA system is very flexible so you can sit your Certificate level assessments as and when you are ready. This means that it is possible to fast track through to the Managerial level exams if you so wish but there are progression rules that apply:
- You must pass all five Certificate level computer based assessments before you can sit Managerial level papers
- You must complete all computer based assessments by 1st March in order to sit Managerial level papers in May, the deadline being 1st September if you want to sit Managerial level papers in November

Integrated courses
Our Integrated courses combine Exam Based Learning and Exam Preparation allowing you to study for one paper at a time, so you can focus on passing that paper. At the end of the course, you are ready to attempt your CBA.
The course material is specific to the Computer Based Assessment (CBA) and includes the opportunity of practising exam format questions using the CIMA eSuccess CDROM.
Our courses are offered on a Weekday, Evening (certain subjects only) or Weekend basis, each paper being taught over 3 to 5 days depending on the subject. Click here for details.

Plus: CIMA eSuccess CDROM for Certificate Level - the only preparation CDs and question bank endorsed by CIMA. The CD simulates the CBA with questions generated randomly from a bank of questions written by the same team that have prepared the new CBA. You will receive a mark at the end and feedback showing which questions you answered incorrectly, and how the correct answer is arrived at.
