TOPCIMA (Test of Professional Competence in Management Accounting) is the final assessment. All the Managerial and Strategic papers must be completed and passed before attempting TOPCIMA.

CIMA produce a 10 - 15 page case study based on a fictitious organisation which provides information about the company’s history, their current position and industry information. This material (known as the pre-seen) will be available at least 6 weeks in advance of the exam. You will also receive a marking guide (the TOPCIMA assessment matrix) in advance of the exam which shows you the criteria against which you will be marked and hence the skills you need to develop. In the exam CIMA provide an additional further 6 - 8 pages which provide an update to the organisation and scenario – this is known as the unseen. Based on this information you are asked to write a report addressing the problems and opportunities facing the organisation.

Our Courses
Our TOPCIMA course has been developed by our expert TOPCIMA tutors to maximise your chances in this, your final hurdle. It is totally different from course structures aimed at earlier papers because TOPCIMA is a totally different exam - no detailed learning required as for previous exams - TOPCIMA relies on synthesis, analysis and reasoning skills.

Phase 1
During this phase you will be introduced to TOPCIMA, the pre-seen information and the required exam technique. We will undertake a detailed review and analysis of the pre-seen information at the same time as teaching you an exam approach methodology that will enable you to plan, construct and present your answer to achieve maximum marks against the criteria of the assessment matrix.

We offer Weekend, Evening and Weekday courses for phase 1 of TOPCIMA.

Phase 2
You will revise the exam approach and key points from the case study including a review of potential scenarios arising from the pre-seen material. The main focus of this phase is exam practice and you will have the opportunity to practice simulated unseens based on the pre-seen material. These will be marked by our TOPCIMA expert who will provide detailed feedback on any areas for improvement.

Phase 2 courses are available on a Weekday and Weekend basis.
